Biloxi, MS—Coast Transit Authority facilitated the distribution of six pallets of lotion and conditioner from the IP Casino Resort Spa to The Salvation Army. This donation of personal hygiene products will be distributed by The Salvation Army this weekend during the cold weather sheltering and will be used for future needs of the community.

“We thank the IP Casino Resort Spa for this generous contribution of personal hygiene products to our community, coordinated through MPTA, the state transit association. CTA would also like to thank The Salvation Army for picking up and distributing these items to our unfortunate homeless population,” said Kevin Coggin, Executive Director of Coast Transit Authority.

Earlier this year the Mississippi Public Transit Association (MPTA) State Conference was held at the IP Casino Resort Spa. The Mobility Manager Team of Mississippi spoke with the IP Casino Resort Spa about donating items to those in need. Coast Transit Authority has facilitated this through The Salvation Army.

“We are extremely grateful for the generous gift of hygiene products which will benefit not only our cold weather shelter guests this winter, but also our fresh and clean program that allows our homeless neighbors the opportunity to shower and have their clothes washed at our Center of Hope,” says Major Jerry Friday, Area Commander of The Salvation Army.
