Press Release – May 8, 2020

Subject: Resumption of full-time daily schedules

On April 24, Governor Reeves issued Executive Order No. 1477, Safer at Home Order, authorizing an easement of travel restrictions that allows Essential Travel with restrictions on April 27. As of May 4th, Governor Reeves has taken the step to lift additional restrictions in Mississippi. In response to this, on Monday, May 11th, CTA will make the following changes….

Monday through Saturday CTA will be back to operating 45/90-minute routes. There will still be no Sunday service and only 1 trolley on the Casino Hopper route (Please see website for Casino Hopper Schedule). Fixed route related ADA service will be available during the times that fixed routes operate, with the same restrictions. ADA trip reservations can be made by calling CTA dispatch, 228-896-8080, between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

For the safety of our essential employees and the public, service will still operate with the following conditions/restrictions:

  1. Standard fare collection schedule will be in place
  2. Passengers must keep their mouth and nose covered at all times when on a bus or in passenger waiting facilities
  3. Bus and facility capacity will be limited to 10 passengers at a time
  4. Social distancing (6 ft.) shall be observed
  5. Passenger Code of Conduct rules will be enforced

Here at CTA, we are excited to be a part of the reopening of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We look forward to providing excellent service while also protecting our dedicated employees and amazing community. “We keep the gulf coast rolling for you.”
