Earth Day Celebration 2026

Coast Transit Authority (CTA), in partnership with the Mississippi Aquarium, will host an Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Gulfport Transit Center Hub (1401 20th Avenue, Gulfport, MS). This free, family-friendly event invites the public to learn, explore, and celebrate sustainability along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

As part of this collaborative event, attendees can enjoy free trolley rides aboard CTA’s dual-fuel Tram Trolley, running every 15 minutes between the Mississippi Aquarium and Gulfport Transit Center, with stops at the farmer’s market in Jones Park and at Ship Island Excursions. Guests will have the opportunity to explore CTA’s eco-friendly fleet, including a Battery Electric Bus (BEB), hybrid electric bus, and dual-fueled (gas and propane) bus, as well as a hydrogen- powered vehicle from MSCFC.

The celebration will also feature local vendors, giveaways, and educational opportunities focused on environmental stewardship. Mississippi Power will be on-site sharing tips on energy conservation, alongside additional resources highlighting the importance of recycling and sustainable practices.

While the Earth Day event itself is free to attend, guests can also experience the Mississippi Aquarium’s new recycling exhibition with paid admission.

Complimentary parking will be available in the CTA Parking Garage for Earth Day attendants (1417 20th Avenue).

Join CTA and the Mississippi Aquarium in celebrating Earth Day and learning how small changes can make a big impact. For more information, call 228-896-8080 or visit www.coasttransit.com. Follow Coast Transit Authority on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to stay in the loop.
