Hurricane Evacuation Transportation

Hurricane season begins June 1, and Coast Transit Authority is prepared to assist Harrison County residents with evacuation transportation. Registration for this free service is quick and easy, and CTA requests that registration is renewed annually. Preregister online at www.coasttransit.com or simply call 228-896-8080 ext. 0 to get set up today.

“If a hurricane threatens, we will be ready to move your family out of harm’s way,” said Kevin Coggin, Executive Director of Coast Transit Authority.

This service is available for Harrison County residents who need transportation assistance during any Emergency Management Agency mandated evacuation, and it includes transportation to and from assigned Harrison County shelters. Only two carry-on items per person will be allowed on the bus—either two bags or one bag and one pet carrier. Those being transported must inform CTA as soon as possible of any special medical or other needs. Spanish speaking operators are available.

Plan ahead, and make preparations to leave if an evacuation is called. For additional information call 228-896-8080 ext. 0 or visit www.coasttransit.com. Follow Coast Transit Authority on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to stay in the loop!
