Expect major delays on several Coast Transit Authority (CTA) fixed routes for the weekend of April 11-14, 2024, due to excessive traffic along Highway 90 and Pass Road during Spring Break events. To help with rider connections on Highway 90, an Express Route (temporary) will operate between the Gulfport and Biloxi Transit Centers for passengers with a nonstop route (only getting off the bus at the transit center) via the interstate (I-10). There is one fare per express route ride.
CTA transit service modifications include:
FRIDAY, April 12
- Beachcomber will end service for the day at approximately 1:00 p.m. at the Biloxi and Gulfport Transit Centers. The Express Route will begin.
- (EVENT) EXPRESS ROUTE – The Express Route will operate between the Gulfport and Biloxi Transit Centers for passengers with a nonstop route via the interstate. The Express Route will begin on an express bus at 1:00 p.m. With no stops in between, the departures at each transit center will be approximately every 45 minutes, with the final departure for the day being 7:45 p.m. (to arrive at approximately 8:23 p.m.).
- 34 – Pass Road will end service at approximately 6:53 p.m. There will be no service to Eisenhower, C.T. Switzer Road, or Edgewater Mall after 4:45 p.m.
SATURDAY, April 13
- Beachcomber – No Service for the day. The Express Route will run to connect transit centers (nonstop).
- (EVENT) EXPRESS ROUTE – The Express Route will run between the Biloxi and Gulfport Transit Centers via the interstate beginning at 5:30 a.m., approximately every 45 minutes, until the last run at 7:45 p.m. (to arrive at approximately 8:23 p.m.).
- 34 – Pass Road will end service at approximately 6:53 p.m. There will be no service to Eisenhower, C.T. Switzer Road, or Edgewater Mall after 4:45 p.m.
SUNDAY, April 14
- Beachcomber – No Sunday Service
- Rt. 34 – Pass Road will resume a Sunday Schedule; however, expect some traffic delays.
